Seismic Geomorphology of Early North Atlantic Sediment Waves, Offshore Northwest Africa

Dallas Dunlap
University of Texas at Austin

Abstract

Seismic mapping of three distinct Mesozoic-age sediment wave fields was undertaken to better understand their lateral and temporal extent as well as the mechanisms and environmental processes that produced them. These sediment waves covered over 1,000 sq km of the lower continental shelf and represent some of the oldest bottom-current-generated bedforms described in the margin.
