GIS Web Based System for Exploration Data Management in Managing Upstream Oil & Gas Business in Indonesia

It is affirmed by Indonesian government that oil and gas which contained in Indonesian Mining Law Area are national wealth controlled by the state. Based on regulation, The Government of Indonesia has been forming an institution to manage oil and gas business for upstream activity that called BPMIGAS
Information technology for managing upstream oil and gas business in Indonesia has been started from year 2002 with the development of Exploration Data Management System as GIS Web Based information management. Subsequently, workflow management is built to manage PSC commitments, WP&B and AFE. And as a final point, Customer Relationship Management is being developed to manage these 3 (three) tasks to create a good relationship between government and contractors. Recently the GIS Web Based which contain G&G data were merged with the Google earth system and becoming more interactive for continuous monitoring exploration activity in Indonesia Basins.
In general, the GIS web based information system in exploration BPMIGAS has moved out to implementing exploration knowledge management.
