Abstract: Petrophysical Characterization of the Trinity Aquifer
in North Texas
COLLIER, HUGHBERT, LYNN SMITH, and MICHAEL MCCRACKEN
The Cretaceous Trinity Group is the most extensive and prolific aquifer
in North Texas, supplying both domestic and municipal water needs. In order
to better quantify the hydrophysical properties of the aquifer, selected
test holes have been cored and logged with an extensive suite of lithology
and porosity logs. Permeability has been calculated from both pump tests
and Stoneley wave analysis. Preliminary results of this study will be presented.
